SCOPE
Cat6 may fit many standard access-layer applications. Cat6A provides additional headroom for 10-gigabit Ethernet over the full horizontal channel and requires careful attention to cable diameter, bend radius, bundle size and termination quality.
CAPABILITIES
Confirm bandwidth, PoE, outlet quantities, pathway capacity, telecom-room requirements and permanent-link testing requirements before selecting the Cat6A system components.
Install Cat6A cable, patch panels, jacks and supporting hardware while respecting bend radius, pathway capacity, cable management and termination requirements.
Certify completed Cat6A permanent links using appropriate field test equipment and document the completed cabling infrastructure.
TECHNICAL DETAIL
Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over the full 100-metre channel and is commonly selected for new commercial installations where additional bandwidth, PoE capacity and long-term infrastructure life are priorities.
